TIPS for ALL games!

USE GRID!
When creating a level, using a grid is crucial for precise alignment of materials, objects, stickers/decorations, and logic. It simplifies the process and ensures everything is properly aligned.

To activate the grid:

Go to Create Mode
Pause the game

Choose Small, Medium, or Big for the grid size
Small is commonly recommended for most cases.
Grid Placements
When creating player platforms, it's important to consider the size of materials. Instead of sticking to straight or perfect slope walkways, adding curves and hills can enhance the design. However, if it doesn't fit your level's aesthetic, it's okay to skip it. The average size for platforms and beams/pillars is usually 4x4 small grid blocks when using square-shaped materials from your popit.
Modular Level Design!
Modular level design is fancy, but simple! Keep pieces separate, avoid unnecessary glue, and enjoy the freedom to revise. Just remember, excessive glue hampers performance.

this video is made in LittleBigPlanet 2, anti-gravity tweakers are no longer needed (LBP3, lbp vita) . Just tweak the object to be Static for the same effect!
Optimization
Optimization is crucial for LBP3 on both PS3 and PS4 consoles to ensure a playable experience for all players. Regardless of the console, it's important to prioritize optimization.
Dephysicalizing
keep static and dephysicalize what players don't touch or need collision with; dephysicalizing cosmetic elements improves performance.

FOR EXMAPLE

if you got effects like rain, sparkles, fog, etc., disable collision for 'em. background objects out of reach, like books or untouched ceilings, should be dephysicalized too. game knows hitbox not needed, visuals stay intact.
DONT GLUE!!!
keep things unglued; lag happens with too many glued objects on-screen;
set things to Static if not meant to move;
works with Modular Level Design.
Gameplay Motifs
Motifing is a common level design practice used in the industry!

create gameplay motifs by outlining the basics on cardboard, allowing for easy editing and independent development; plug the finalized idea into the desired area of your level.
